Based upon the system requirements and size of the intended system, it may also be appropriate to suggest a commercial consultant to design your system, and then place the installation portion out on the market for competitive bids by system integrators. Existing AMX Systems If an organization already has an existing control system in place, and only needs programming changes, we may be able to assist with those changes. If you are unable to get assistance from the original programming or integration company, we will attempt to assist; however, success will depend upon a number of factors.
- The most important factor will be whether or not the original programming code is available and is not password protected. If the original company left a copy of the code and interface graphic files when they finished, you can simply email this to us for review, and we can usually provide a flat-rate quote for the needed changes. There is no fee for this type of quote.
- If these files are not readily available, we may be able to retrieve the necessary files from the master controller and touch panels, assuming the original programmer did not password protect the files. However, the only way to know this is to go to the installation site, and there will be a nominal hourly fee for this service plus any applicable travel fees.
- If the files are not obtainable by any means, unfortunately the only other choice for making changes to the control system will be to re-write the system programming files in their entirety. AV Controlwise will not access a fee to provide this quote, assuming the original drawings are available for review, or it is a relatively small system.
- In the off-chance of a large system that does not have any documentation (programming files or drawings), we will first need to trace cables within the system in order to know how to quote and program it properly. There will be an hourly fee assessed to accomplish this task. The resulting quote will be free.
- Please note that if it is necessary for AV Controlwise to be contracted to obtain programming files or system wiring schemes prior to providing a quote for actual programming, that these files will be the property of the contracting company once payment is received. This will enable the organization to obtain programming quotes from other sources, should they so desire.
